What to look out for
- A welcome rate is temporary. After it ends you get the bank’s normal rate, so look at that rate too.
- Often the offer only applies up to a maximum amount. Above it, you get the normal rate.
- The offer is for new customers. Some banks only count you as new if you have not been a customer for a while. The offer says so.
- At every bank your savings are protected up to € 100,000 per person by the deposit guarantee scheme.
